Delicious and Easy to Make Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Smoothie

Our first recipe is a rich and creamy chocolate peanut butter smoothie. It’s perfect for a quick and nutritious lunch or snack, and it’s incredibly easy to make. Plus, it’s packed with protein and healthy ingredients to keep you energized throughout the day.

I call this my famous smoothie because everyone I’ve made it for absolutely LOVES it and asks me for the recipe so they can make it at home — and then they do, repeatedly. Even my 5 year old, who is notoriously picky, would drink it every day if I let him. (Okayyyy, not exactly famous, but close enough!) It’s incredibly tasty; I swear it tastes like a chocolate milkshake. And you can feel great about drinking it since it’s packed with nutrients to help you power through your day.



• About 1 cup of milk (can be adjusted depending on how thin or thick you want the smoothie to be)

• 2 tablespoons of peanut butter (or any nut butter substitute)

• 1-2 scoops of chocolate protein powder (I like Orgain!)

• 1 frozen banana (or half a banana for a less sweet version)

• A handful of spinach

• A spoonful or drizzle of honey to taste

• A tiny sprinkle of black seed powder (or whole seeds, known as Nigella Sativa)

• Ice cubes (add more for a thicker smoothie)


1. Combine Ingredients: Place the milk, peanut butter (or nut butter substitute), protein powder, banana, spinach, honey, black sesame seeds (or black seed powder), and ice cubes (if using) into a blender.

2. Blend: Blend until smooth. If you like it extra smooth, blend a bit longer.

3. Adjust Consistency: If you prefer a thinner smoothie, add more milk. For a thicker consistency, use less milk/more ice.

Notes on Ingredients:

Black Seed Powder: This ingredient adds a very subtle nutty flavor to the smoothie. It’s packed with health benefits and can be found online or at your local Mediterranean grocery stores. Just be sure to use a sprinkle of it for the best flavor.

Spinach: Adding spinach to your smoothie boosts its nutritional value with vitamins and minerals like iron, calcium, and vitamins A, C, and K. Despite its vibrant green color, you won’t taste the spinach compared to all the other flavors. If you blend it really well, you won’t even be able to see it in the smoothie.

Serving Suggestions:

• If you make a thicker smoothie, you can use it as a base for a smoothie bowl. Some great topping ideas include granola, fresh berries, sliced bananas, chia seeds, shredded coconut, and a drizzle of honey.

This chocolate peanut butter smoothie is not only delicious but also packed with nutrients. It’s a great option for a quick lunch or a satisfying snack that will keep you energized throughout your day. Plus, you can easily customize it with your favorite ingredients and adjust the thickness to your liking.
